Sentence 4
4. Classic Version
“The Dao is a void that cannot be filled. It contains everything, the blunt and the sharp, the resolute and the confused, the light and the darkness, the essence of all beings. He who frequents him masters his nature, detached from vanity and keeps his virtue hidden. No one created the Dao, he existed before Creation.”
4. Version for adepts of The Path
The Whole is an inexhaustible void, the essence of all beings. He who practices The Path controls his nature, detached from vanity and keeps hidden his virtue. For ever and for ever, the Whole, without beginning or end, brings everything back to itself.
4. Version for Dummies
Everything seems empty, but it is the source of everything. He who practices The Path controls his vanity, his impulses and the desires of his animal nature. He keeps the merits of his life in secret. Everything has always brought everything back to him.

A void so full
“The Dao is a void that cannot be filled. It contains everything, the blunt and the sharp, the resolute and the confused, the light and darkness, the essence of all beings.”
The Dao, which is the Whole, seems empty, as we speak of the inter-sideral void and yet it is not: nothing that exists is outside of it. It contains everything and nothing can come fulfilled, because everything already exists and nothing more can exist.
If everything is in him, if everything is his, then good and evil, light and darkness, hard and meek, life and "death" are his.
Unite with the Whole
“He who frequents him controls his nature, detached from vanity and keeps his virtue hidden.”
He who knows where to find the manifestation of the Whole, of the Unity in him, can go and immerse himself in it and find the light that will enlighten him and dominate his nature to unite with his harmony. Thus amended, the wise will hide his virtue, not to arouse controversy, jealousy and remain in peace.
Never born, never to die
“No one created the Dao, it existed before Creation.”
Some translations say that the Dao was there before the creator… which creator? The creator of what? If this creator existed, he was of All, the Dao and no one created the Dao, so he will always be the Dao. The Earth and the entire solar system, the galaxy itself can disappear, it won’t change the Dao.
